Located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains is Herkimer County. One of the most well-known destinations of this county is Enchanted Forest Water Safari at Old Forge, located in the Town of Webb. People visit during the summer months for this famous outdoor water park. Other areas like Ohio, Fulton and the Fulton Chain of Lakes and Little Falls offer many opportunities for fishing and hiking nature trails. Lock 17 on the Erie Canal System is located in Little Falls, but bodies of water like the Moose River and Eagle Bay are also popular.
